I hit four of the big Apple stores presenting on AutoCAD for Mac and it has definitely been an adventurous journey. I enjoyed the smaller format, the Mac fans, and the magical ambiance the Apple stores seem to possess. My first presentation was in New York City - where I had the privilege of presenting from the Genius Bar (not sure if I really qualify).
Of course you can try AutoCAD for Mac for 30 days free of charge - and I highly recommend you loyal Mac users do exactly that. This is not standard AutoCAD ported over to a Mac - this is the real deal. AutoCAD 2011 for Mac takes full advantage of the MAC OS X operating system (I just love Expose' and Cover Flow) and should run quite well on any Mac computers purchased after January 1, 2009.
There are commands in AutoCAD for Mac that aren't aren't in AutoCAD for Windows (such as the Content Palette) and vice versa. Autodesk certainly didn't feel that all 28 years of AutoCAD commands needed to be in AutoCAD for Mac and they worked closely with their beta testers to make sure as many key commands as possible were included.
I'm kind of sad to be finished with the Apple Store tour - and I'm crossing my fingers there will be some more AutoCAD for Mac presentations in the future! Such an exciting product - I've been driving everyone crazy by gushing about it...
