This past weekend was a blur as my oldest step-son was married to his long time girlfriend. Every time I saw the bride I just couldn't help crying - she was so stunning. It was all just so beautiful - just exactly the way a wedding should be! We had been working up to this wedding for over a year, so it was quite a drop when it was all over...I think I'm just now starting to ramp back into full-fledged work mode!
As a Tweeter, I have enjoyed getting to know my fellow bloggers better (they all tweet as well). I came across a nice tip on Robin Capper's blog that I thought I'd share with you. I tried his tip - and I really like it!
An AutoCAD Hip Tip on Speedy Mousing:
When you enter a dialog box in AutoCAD (or any other program for that matter) your mouse doesn't'r really know where to go (in most cases). Why not give your mouse a mission! Send him to the default option in the dialog.
This can be done easily by going to the Control Panel and selecting Mouse from the many options.
That will take you into the Mouse Properties dialog - you'll need to go into the Pointer Options tab. Here you will find the very cool option that will automatically move your pointer to the default button in a dialog box! Be sure to check that...
Let's face it - you need to move your mouse to the dialog box anyway - why not let Windows move it there for you? Think of all the miles of movement this will save? Believe me - It's better than not moving at all, and will no doubt bring you closer to your intended goal anyway! And on those rare times you actually do want to use the default - you are already there! Think of the time saved and the calories not spent.
How will this affect you? Take a look at an AutoCAD command that drives a dialog box (such as INSERT) and see where the arrow appears - at the default!
Thank you so much Robin for the great tip (so it took me a couple of years to find it) - I really like it!
