I spent all day yesterday (and will do the same today) recording the sound for the AutoCAD 2007 screencast. Similar to the one I did for Inventor (link at the side), this will be filled with tips and techniques for AutoCAD 2007...look for it to come out sometime within the next month or so. Unfortunately I am still trying to shake this evil cold so you might notice a touch of a raspy voice in the presentation...we managed to edit out the occasional cough (thank goodness!). We are recording in a very cool sound studio in Berkeley where En Vogue just finished recording their last CD...and rumor has it Destiny's Child also recorded there...Do you think Beyonce sat in the same chair I did? How cool would that be? Below is a picture taken during the recording...(is that a bottled water on the floor?)
On to a Hip Tip on Splitting Faces on AutoCAD 2007:
It's super easy to split a face inside of AutoCAD 2007 - start by drawing a line across the desired face where you want to split it as seen below.
Use the IMPRINT command to imprint the line into the face.
Command: IMPRINT
Select a 3D solid: pick the cube
Select an object to imprint: pick the line
Delete the source object [Yes/No] <N>: N
Then it's easy to use the new 3D Grips to split the face as seen below!
Remember to use the Ctrl key to select the individual edge...
I'm off to Day 2 of recording...
