AutoCAD 2007 buzz is all around me! I'm so looking forward to doing some cool presentations on the new features...(it's really so much fun to show the new 3D tools). Let's continue down our walk through the new updated 3D solid primitive commands...
More AutoCAD 2007 3D Solid Primitives:
Cylinder:
Here you'll find the same options as the familiar CIRCLE command to define the base followed by the height which is easily picked dynamically. You can also specify an elliptical base. The height of the cylinder can be defined by selecting between two distinct points (2P), or simply an axis endpoint. Of course - it's easy to use the new friendly 3D grips to make changes to it dynamically at any time.
Sphere:
Once again you'll find the same options as in the CIRCLE command (center point, 3P, 2P, TTR) but you end up generating a sphere.
Pyramid
Use the new PYRAMID command to draw a solid pyramid (the prompts are very similar to the familiar POLYGON command). You’ll input the number of sides (3 to 32), base radius, inscribed or circumscribed (or use the Edge option), top radius and height. Super Cool!
so there you go! I'm off to Las Vegas tomorrow for a conference...stay tuned for more cool 3D "stuff"
