It's beginning to feel like winter! Granted, I'm in California, but it's still mighty chilly up here...how about a Holiday Hip Tip on Attributes to warm you up?
Speedy Search and Replace of Attribute Text:
I just recently received an email from someone who needed to change the attribute text values of many, many blocks from one value to another (such as change all the "SX" to "TK"). This is where the awesome FIND command can really help you out. One might not think to try the FIND command on attributes, but it does a great job.
First up, you'll need to make sure that the FIND dialog box is toggled to search through attributes by selecting the Options button as seen below:
Notice all the many types of text the FIND command can hunt through? Then it's simply a matter of entering the Search and Replace text values.
And there you have it! Enjoy this great time-saver (sure beats editing them one at a time). You can also use the age-old -ATTEXT command to search and replace, but it doesn't hunt through multiple layouts (so FIND works better...).
