I'm pretty sure my hotel room isn't going to have any internet access since I'm presenting in a small fishing village at the Royal Huisman shipyard. So I've logged this Hip Tip ahead of time just in case...(who loves you?)
AutoCAD Hip Tip on accessing commands:
Recently I've had a few people comment that they would prefer to use the original command line interface of a command rather than the associated dialog box. You can still use it! Simply put a dash in front of any AutoCAD command and you'll be using the command line version rather than the dialog box. For example, many of us die-hard veterans still prefer to use the command line version of the Layer command - so we key in -LA to access it the old fashion way (it's super easy to jump in and out ever so quickly). For example:
Command: -ARRAY
This would give you the command line version of the ARRAY command.
Some of you may have run into problems bringing menus forward from AutoCAD Release 14. Back then, the Insert command was driven from the command line (now it's run by a dialog). If you are one of those who are trying to upgrade an old menu with the Insert command in it, you will need to place a dash in front of the command to get it to work properly. It's that simple! I've had two emails on this just this week.
So there's your "Dashing" Hip Tip from Vollenhove!
