I arrived at the MGM hotel in Las Vegas on Saturday just to get a headstart on preparing for this years AU conference. I was able to take in a preview performance of the new Cirque du Soleil show KA, and I must say it was an extremely painful 2 straight hours... I hope they figure out how to tune it up before their Opening night! The sets were amazing but the show just went on and on and on and on - I couldn’t possibly have survived one more fight scene. Still trying to figure out why there was a jellyfish in the jungle scene...
At the end of the very long walk to the Conference Center (1 mile there and back) are posters of the winning entries for this years Innovation Awards. We definitely received some amazing entries. All winners received an all expense paid trip here to AU - perhaps you should be entering next year’s competition! The conference center looks fantastic all decked out in the AU garb... and bit by bit everyone is arriving. It takes me about 30 minutes just to walk to the convention center because I keep bumping in to people I know and haven’t seen in such a long time.
The Autodesk Training Center (ATC) and Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) conferences were held today. I spent some time at the ATC conference hearing about all of their great achievements over the past year.
This year we have a 40% increase in attendance from last year - staggering! And I thought the event couldn’t possibly get any bigger than it already has... slowly the buzz and excitement seems to be ramping up...
Tomorrow I will be the MC for the mainstage presentation - I get nervous just thinking about it - 4600 people is an enormous audience to speak to!
Start saving your pennies today for next year’s AU... I want to see you there!
Stay tuned for more AU info...
